Who are we?

Welcome to Startup in Residence Achterhoek!

The innovative program that connects startups with governments to tackle societal challenges together.

Our mission is to bridge the gap between the fresh ideas and creative solutions of startups and the needs of local governments in the Achterhoek.

Through our platform, we can establish innovative collaborations that bring about positive changes in our society.

Why Startup in Residence Achterhoek?

Co-creation

We believe that by working together, startups and governments can strengthen each other and create synergy. We bring ambitious entrepreneurs together with committed government entities that are open to new ideas and innovative solutions. We also do this within the local ecosystem, collaborating with partners who add extra value to enable rapid growth, such as StartHub Incubator Industry (SHII) in Ulft, De Marke in Hengelo, and De Steck.

Social impact

Our focus is on solving social challenges. Whether it concerns sustainability, mobility, health, or other important issues, we aim to bring about positive changes and improve the quality of life in the Achterhoek.

Support and guidance

Startups participating in our program gain access to a wide range of supportive services, including mentoring, coaching, and funding opportunities. We ensure they have the right resources to successfully develop and implement their ideas.

How does it work?

Step 1 →

Identifying Challenges

We work closely with governments in the Achterhoek to identify the most pressing social challenges. These can range from improving local infrastructure to promoting sustainable tourism.

Step 2 →

Call to Startups

We launch a call to startups and invite them to submit their innovative solutions for the identified challenges. We are looking for creative entrepreneurs who are driven to make a difference.

Step 3 →

Selection Process

Together with the governments, we review the submitted proposals and select the most promising startups. We consider the potential of the solutions, their feasibility, and the level of impact they can generate.

Step 4 →

Collaboration and Growth

The selected startups are given the opportunity to collaborate with the involved government agencies. They receive support, access to resources, and guidance to turn their ideas into concrete projects. We encourage a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing.
